Rotary Club Awards Wheels in Motion Bicycle at Whitten Elementary

George Whitten student Key'Darius Thomas was awarded a bicycle for good citizenship by the Hendersonville Rotary Club's Wheels in Motion program. Awards are made monthly to deserving students at George Whitten and Gene Brown elementary schools.

"Wylie Rose" Speaks to Rotary Club on Autism

Hendersonville Rotarian Janet Carr introduced Melissa Meadows, Community Outreach Director of the Autism Society of Middle Tennessee as the Club’s guest speaker. After learning that her son has a type of autism, Meadows gave up her beloved career as radio’s "Wylie Rose" to help enrich the lives and experiences of individuals on the autism spectrum, their families, and their surrounding community through support, advocacy, and education.

Rotary Youth Merit Scholars for May 2013

Hendersonville Rotarian Kevin Armshaw introduced the Club’s Youth Merit Award recipients Zachary Pelka and Alyson Cox, seniors at Pope John Paul II. Both are outstanding students and involved many extra-curricular activities. Pelka plans to attend Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania majoring in Business Economics and Public Policy. Cox plans to attend Notre Dame to study Biology and Theology.

HHS CDC Special Education Teacher Named Educator of the Month

Hendersonville Rotarian and Sumner County Director of Schools Dr. Del Phillips and HHS Principal Joni Worsham introduced Kim Gonzales as the Club’s Educator of the Month. Gonzales is a CDC Special Education teacher at HHS.
