Hendersonville Rotarian Ken Crider introduced Scott C. Borinstein, M.D., Ph.D of the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt as the Club’s guest speaker. Dr. Borinstein told the Club that today’s success rates of 80-85% in treating childhood cancers is largely due to matching innovative combinations of numerous 40 year old drugs to the patients’ DNA.
I am a Rotarian because it inspires me to be a better person for the sake of others. We are social beings and people need people, and in Rotary, I am surrounded by others who want to make the community and world a better place.
