Rotary Youth Merit Scholars

Hendersonville Rotarian Michele Owens introduced the Club’s Youth Merit Award recipients Paige Elliott and Miles Malbrough from Beech High School. Elliott is active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Business Leaders, Junior Classical league, Beta Club, National Honors Society and was a semi-finalist in the National Merit Scholarship competition. She plans to attend Lee University to study Psychology, Political Science, and History, and hopes to be able to study abroad. Malbrough is an AP Scholar and has held leadership positions in Future Business Leaders, National Honor Society, and Beta Club. He is a second degree black belt in taekwondo. He plans to attend Georgetown University and study International Politics and hopes to have a career in international relations.
In addition to Youth Merit Awards, the Hendersonville Rotary Club supports Sumner County education through Teacher of the Month Awards, Dictionaries for Third Graders, Wheels In Motion, Mentoring and Tutoring at risk children, Scholarships to Volunteer State, Wally Nicoll Academic Excellence Scholarship, and COMPASS.
