The Edison School Speaks to Rotary Club

The Hendersonville Rotarian Todd Batson introduced Rob McFadden, Founder and Headmaster at The Edison School in Hendersonville as the Club’s guest speaker. The Edison School is a private co-educational day school that helps children in grades 3 – 6 with specific learning differences and unique learning styles think critically and develop a strong foundation to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

Rotary Club Awards Wheels In Motion Bicycle at George Whitten Elementary

George Whitten Elementary Student Natalie Davis was awarded a bicycle for good citizenship by the Hendersonville Rotary Club’s Wheels in Motion program. Natalie was nominated by her teacher Mrs. Pennington. Awards are made monthly to deserving students at George Whitten and Gene Brown elementary schools.

Skyline Medical Neuroscience Speaks at Rotary

Hendersonville Rotarian and Hendersonville Medical Center CEO Regina Bartlett introduced Skyline Medical Center Admin Director of Neuroscience Debra Philpot as the Club’s guest speaker. Philpot spoke to the Club about the causes, signs, and potential cures of strokes. She said that Tennessee is in the heart of the “Stroke Belt” in the U.S. Diseases of the vascular system, from heart disease to stroke, impact more people in the Southeastern U.S. than any other disease.

Rotary Club Educator of the Month, Debbie Porter

The Hendersonville Rotarian and Director of Sumner County Schools Del Phillips presented the Club’s Educator of the Month award to Debbie Porter, Kindergarten teacher at Walton Ferry Elementary School. Porter has been in her position for 30 years. In speaking to the Club, Porter said that parental involvement is key to maximizing a student’s education opportunities.

As Vice Chancellor for Athletics and University Affairs and Athletics Director, Williams guides the Vanderbilt Athletics, Recreation, Intramural and Club Sports programs and he has firmly placed his stamp on Vanderbilt Athletics, while positioning the program among the most innovative in the nation.
