Rep. Diane Black Returns Home and Speaks to Rotary Club
Congressman Diane Black
Hendersonville Rotarian and U.S. Congressman Diane Black spoke to the Rotary Club about the challenges facing the soon to be lame duck Congress. Black has been a Congressman since 2010 representing Tennessee District 6. The biggest challenge the lame duck session of Congress will face is the so called "Financial Cliff," which will have a $606 Billion impact on the economy in the New Year if not addressed by this session of Congress. The three largest components of the $606 Billion impact are: Expiration of the 2001 / 2003 Bush tax cuts; new taxes associated with Healthcare Reform; and Payroll Tax Relief enacted by the Executive branch.
