On Wednesday, May 4th, the Rotary Club of Hendersonville Foundation donated $3,000 to The Salvus Center, a faith-based health center providing primary healthcare services to those in need. John Cross, Rotarian and Salvus Center board member asks that we continue to help The Salvus Center in two ways:
- Be an "advocate" for Salvus and the uninsured in our county. In your daily activities, mention Salvus and ask people if they, or those they know, have family members, employees etc. that are working but do not have medical insurance. If not, let them know that Salvus is here to be a source of medical care for them.
- Salvus currently serves several thousand individuals in Sumner County. Almost every business owner receives the benefit of this medical care in some way. Where you have relationships, please suggest that they consider financially supporting Salvus. Our cost per patient visit is just under $125. We currently provide about 5,000 appointments per year across our two clinics. The State has informed us that it plans to withdraw the Safety Net funding for clinics like ours (about $120,000 last year) due to lower tax revenues. God has, and will continue, we believe, continue blessing Salvus to provide this care. We just need to have folks act when they think about assisting these uninsured.
