FBI Cyber Crime Expert Speaks to Hendersonville Rotary

Hendersonville Rotarian Eddie Roberson introduced Scott Augenbaum, Cyber Crime Supervisor for the FBI’s Memphis Division, as the club speaker.  Augenbaum manages the Cyber Crime Program in Nashville and Memphis with a staff of seven Special Agents.  He shared that the FBI leads the national effort to investigate high-tech crimes, including cyber-based terrorism, computer intrusions, online sexual exploitation, and major cyber frauds.

International VP Speaks To Hendersonville Rotary Club

Rotary International VP Noel Bayat spoke to a special meeting of the Hendersonville Rotary Club. Bajat gave a presentation on The Rotary Foundation which funds the International Club’s world-wide humanitarian projects, which include providing clean water, combating hunger, improving health and sanitation, and the eradication of polio. Rotary International is a global volunteer service organization that was founded in 1905 in Chicago, IL and now has 1.2 million members in 34,000 clubs in 207 countries around the world.

U. S. Congressman Diane Black’s Rotary Homecoming

Congressman Diane Black returned home for a break from the U.S. Congress and spoke at a special meeting of the Hendersonville Rotary Club.  Black, a Hendersonville Rotarian, gave the Club her assessment of the recent negotiations, over raising the Federal Debt Limit, within the U. S. House of Representatives and between the House, the Senate, and the White House.

State of Community Service

Rotary President Eric Jackson entered last week’s meeting to “Hail to the Chief," escorted by mock secret service guards, and delivered his State of Hendersonville Rotary Club address, without the aid of a teleprompter.  The fun filled meeting format was enjoyed by all in attendance but the message was a serious one.
